Thumbnail preview?

Not sure how to describe this, but when I see youtube videos, I am used to seeing thumbnail previews that show me what action is taking place, as I move my cursor along the timeline of the video.

I keep doing this with VLC. Is there an addon or some option to check somewhere, that would allow this for VLC?

prr. I also miss the thumbnail as you move the cursor along the progress timeline. With the thumbnail I can quickly find the spot where I want to start my playing of the video. As you I have not been able to find an addon. Hopefully the developers will implement this feature.

Many times (more than less) the image is NOT from where the cursor is. The thumbnail is from some time back.

Zoom Player can do this just great with no problems, so I don't see why VLC couldn't
