Feature request in subtitles

Hi all,

I'm not sure this is already inplement in VLC, i've search in all advanced functions related to subtitles and overlay.
So when we use a file including soft-subtitles (not hardsub in the video) like ogm, mkv or external subtitles is it possible when you pause your video to keep the subtitles displaying ?
Because actually they disapear after a short time and when the sentence is very long (that's why you pause the video :p) you haven't enough time to read it.

So if this is not implement yet, is it possible to implement it in a future release ?
This would be very useful people that enjoy VOST videos.

Thx.

Yes, subtitles always disappear on DVD players while pausing, fast-forwarding, etc. I agree, this functionality would be useful.

This really needs to happen; this behavior is my only main problem with how VLC handles soft subs. Do not have subs timeout and disappear when VLC is paused.

Hello,

We plan a major rewrite of the subtitles / video core for VLC 0.8.5 (not before February or March 2006).

This improvement is part of the requirements and should be implemented

Thanks

Hello! I came to this forum just to look for this Feature! It is the only thing VLC lacks for me
I am a realy slow reader and I watch a lot of anime with subs. I always pause to read long text. This would be for every day use for me so please make it be :!:

Up til now I was forced to use MPClassic for this
