Would like to see VLC support opening multiple windows/files at the same time. This would be the same as QuickTime works—you can open as many video or audio files as you like, and then just play the one you want. Very useful for when you have to pause something to review something else.

Did you try 2.2.0? Why not launch multiple VLCs?
