Prefs menu location of certain items

Postby Chrisi22 » 27 Dec 2014 01:26

A couple of VLC prefs are hard to find in the prefs menu. Some are seemingly in an unrelated prefs menu section.
A couple of prefs that should ? be near each other are located in very different sections. Like prefs for Snapshots & for Recording.
* Shouldn't the prefs label be, "Recording directory?"

I never remember the location of pref to set the "Record directory" path. The Search in Prefs window doesn't jump to entries & there are often many results, showing "general" locations of search hits. Say, for "record."

The output path for recording seems unrelated to "Input / Codecs" (where the pref is now).
Other suggestions for these 2 prefs are on the attached image. Thanks.

The issue is that those make sense for the code, not necessarily for the user. Which is why they are in simple preferences.

For the browsing button, it's a great idea, I'll fix for 3.0.0
