VLC left opened prevents the lower power mode in Windows 7.

Problem that I have: when the Firefox 26 browser is left opened, it prevents Windows 7 to go in a low power mode and blacken the screen after a certain period of time to save battery usage on a notebook.
This issue had been solved at previous versions and yet strangely it reappeared at other subsequent versions. Therefore, I assume that the code that was created at previous versions of the VLC media player to solve this issue might have been deleted at subsequent versions.

I would appreciate if someone could inform the developers to add this particular issue on their list of problems to solve in order to solve it at a later date. Many thanks for your help on this matter.

I assume you noticed that I did a typing mistake. Instead of:
"Problem that I have: when the Firefox 26 browser is left opened, it prevents Windows 7 to go in a low power mode and blacken the screen after a certain period of time to save battery usage on a notebook.".
I meant:
"Problem that I have: when the the VLC Media Player (version 2.1.2 Rincewind) is left opened, it prevents Windows 7 to go in a low power mode and blacken the screen after a certain period of time to save battery usage on a notebook.".
