pauldunlop: so you see four empty video windows? You might want to use tsMuxeR to create .m2ts file which only has one video stream.

No suitable decoder module:
VLC does not support the audio or video format "WVC1". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.
Windows vista x64
vlc 0.9.8a

I have the same problem.
"No suitable decoder module:
VLC does not support the audio or video format "WVC1". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this."

This problem occurs with only some files, but not all.

Oddly, Media Player Classic can play the files the VLC cannot play.

Vista Ultimate
VLC 0.9.2

Media Player Classic can use DirectShow decoders that can decode WVC1 (aka VC-1) video directly. Anyone wants to share a sample file?

You are correct. VLC doesn't open WVC1 fourcc from .m2ts files. Trac ticket opened.

VLC can play WVC1 video streams but it just can't play them from a M2TS container for some reason.

I guess the splitter is the faulty part and needs to be updated.

VLC also doesn't even detect the presence of DTS-MA (HD) audio streams but only the AC3 one.

FYI MPlayer and MPC-HC are now able to play such files so the source code for both the splitter and DTS HD is available.

A sample with WVC1 + AC3 + DTS-MA in a M2TS container can be downloaded from here:

VLC 1.0.0 plays those files.

I just checked, this BARAKA and no issues seems to come out of it (except lack of support of DTS-MA, of course)

MPlayer, MPC-HC and Ffdshow can now play DTS-MA HD and MLP True HD audio, so the code is available

No, they can't decode DTS-MA HD.
And VLC can decode TrueHD audio too.

They can.

MPC-HC SVN: http://www.xvidvideo.ru/content/category/1/1/2/
Ffdshow tryouts: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... _id=173941

Try to play the BARAKA sample with these builds and you'll see, well hear, that it works.

And VLC can decode TrueHD audio too.
VLC can't play my MLP files.
Link me to samples that work with VLC please ?

No, no, no, they can't. They read the core DTS inside the DTS-MA, as VLC.

Most MLP files work too with 1.0.

Yes, true, but at least they can play these DTS streams whilst VLC 0.9.8a can't for now.
For instance here is a file which contains two different audio streams:
http://stfcc.org/misc/00000.cut2.m2ts

Audio #1
ID : 4352 (0x1100)
Menu ID : 1 (0x1)
Format : AC-3
Format/Info : Audio Coding 3
Duration : 29s 970ms
Bit rate mode : Constant
Bit rate : 224 Kbps
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Channel positions : L R
Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz

Audio #2
ID : 4353 (0x1101)
Menu ID : 1 (0x1)
Format : DTS
Format/Info : Digital Theater Systems
Format profile : MA
Duration : 29s 970ms
Bit rate mode : Variable
Channel(s) : 6 channels
Channel positions : Front: L C R, Surround: L R, LFE
Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz
Resolution : 24 bits

The file is playing fine in VLC 0.9.8a but only the AC3 stream is detected. It seems that VLC doesn't even recognize the presence of the DTS stream.

On a sidenote the video stream contains frames that change from progressive to interlaced and vice versa. Might be usefull for testing purposes :)

Most MLP files work too with 1.0.
Waiting for the nighties server to be back online...

I hear both tracks on Linux 1.0.0

Same on Windows Seven with VLC 1.0.0

You want a Windows 1.0 build?

And?

Seriously, we know about that, and we read the Net, but they don't have license for open source projects.

What is PGS?
Presentation Graphic Stream (.SUP)

Format for subtitles used on Blu-ray.
MPC-HC can display them, maybe you could have a look at the code :)
