Feature request for v 0.9 post here

Postby carnage » 12 Dec 2006 18:41

Hello i'd like to present You my fearure request:
1)Audio control-change for somethin like ac3 filter config (it would be more useful)

2)subtitles - support for tag to italic (in my subtitles usualy {y:i} or / )

3)easier loading subtitles (this someone already requested)

Bug: vlc there are issues with video in .ogm when seeking.
That's all for now.
BTW: Your player is the best

2. Use subtitle format with proper specs. Like SSA or A.S.S (remove dots).

m2t ffwd/rew support

Postby airdrummer » 19 Dec 2006 13:39

i use apple's virtualDVHS to capture .m2t over firewire, and it generates a .tsnavi file to facilitate ffwd/rew on playback (+30/-15 sec per click...perfect;-)

but of course i can't playback while recording, so i want to use vlc...but vlc can't ffwd/rew m2t...yet;-)

Ok thx, but I thought about most common kind of subtitles like txt

One another thing:
when I use alt+left, alt+right to fast foreward or fast backward gaps aren't constant(form 10 to 20 sec.) is there anythig You could do with that?

I agree with the better subtitles support.
Is there any way to integrate DirectVobSub into VLC? I know it's a windows only filter but nothing is impossible.
It could also be done as better recognizing of characters and commands given on subtitle tracks.
Better handling when paused, sometimes when I pause either the subtitles go away after a short time or they simply overlap with the next line and when hitting play they dissapear.

I hope this isn't too much to ask for.

I am going to repost an older thread of mine here, because I believe a blur/sharpen filter should be included in VLC 0.9. By the way, I corrected some spelling errors and changed the structure of some sentences

--------------------------------------------

I know that VideoLAN has a motion blur filter, but what about a simple, "gaussian" (for lack of a better word) blur filter? It would be a good addition, because it would improve the picture quality on videos that look "blocky". Also, I think a sharpening filter would be useful for videos that look blurry.

It just seems strange to me. I mean, VideoLAN has an incredible "psychedelic distortion" filter and a brilliant "video wall" mode, but it lacks a proper blur/sharpen adjustment!

I have found that 3GPP consortium has released the C-Code of an AAC+ encoder.

Link to 3GPP page

It can be a way to add AAC+ encoding to VLC for the next release...
