Request for Auto skip x-seconds of file.

Postby Dread » 05 Sep 2006 05:48

ive been watching some TV series from the playlist and been thinking that it would be a cool feature if i could set a certain amount of seconds that when it starts a new file from the playlist it would skip into the file, and then go to the next file at a certain amount of seconds before the end.
basicly croping the begining and ending credits from the file so i would be able to watch all the episodes back to back without and 4-5min delay between the actual shows.

please let me know what you think and if this could be a near future posibility.

You could also use the "play faster" button.

Like:

Code: Select all

vlc --start-time 300 file.mpeg

well, you see, the problem is that i am not watching from my computer. i have my videos routed into the other room where i have a big screen TV. and when i have people over to watch these episodes its not only me that gets tired of watching the same thing 200 times.

so no, its not due to pure lazyness. its just one of those minor convieniences that all my friends and i believe would be a good thing.

now using the command line would i have to do that for each file? and is there any complete list of command line commands?
