Add a time stamp option, and add it to Global Hotkeys

It would be amazing if VLC were able to add time stamps to a document for the current marker position. I use VLC for (mostly) legal transcription, and I currently use the Jump to Time feature along with an automated script to make this happen. But if it were an actual feature that a hotkey could be assigned to, that would be great. Some of my transcription-specific apps include this feature (e.g., FTW and ExpressScribe), and one non-transcription (e.g., not originally designed with transcription in mind) app (PotPlayer) includes it because the owner/developer granted my request for the feature and added it (along with a hotkey option). It would be great if VLC could do it too!
