Search function that FINDS and HIGHLIGHTS each instance in a playlist (rather than simply filters out others)?

Postby mbnnyc » 11 Feb 2021 07:43

Hi, is there a feature in the VLC playlist window which would function similar to the "FIND word and highlight" feature (as is common in a web browser or document viewer/editor)? I thought that the built-in VLC "search" function in the playlist window would do this, but instead it functions more as a "filter" feature (filtering OUT and hiding the other entries in the playlist).

Is there a way to currently do a true word search in in the playlist window (without filtering out the other entries in the playlist... and instead HIGHLIGHTING all the matches?), or would that feature need to be added? Thanks!

I will settle for a recursive string match which it does not do. grep -ri 'tycho'. I am in the parent folder that has all the t's as folder name
