Volume normalization

Postby TexasBrit » 08 Jun 2024 23:31

Been using VLC on different Windows platforms now for several years and ALWAYS in preference to the native player from Microsoft and others out there. Here's my thought: I'm something of an audiophile - being a jazz sax player who still gigs occasionally may have something to do with that. When I create a playlist it's normally pretty extensive (current one I'm listening to while writing this is 7 hours long!). Is there any way to "normalize" the output volume level so I don't have to keep going back forth adjusting the speaker's volume almost every time a different track in the playlist starts? just wondering is all.

You could use a compresser/limiter but that could sound strange and the best is to use ReplayGain:
