This feature request is basically about podcasts. In a pure audio format you might want to somehow include a picture from time to time to show what you mean. As you might know: A picture is worth a thousand words. For that reason, some podcast producers started using ... uhm I think ... ID3v2 MP3 tags. To clarify I am no tech guy or podcast producer. But the situation should be as following:
1. There is a way to make an MP3 work like a slideshow by not only including chapter marks but also chapter images (and chapter URLs if necessary).
2. Most Podcast creation tools can do that.
3. Every decent Android or iOS Podcatcher can then play such an MP3 like a slideshow.
4. To my knowledge there is not a single Windows player which can play an MP3 like a slideshow.
5. There is even a Windows bug where when you right click such an MP3, Windows will freeze for a certain amount of time because it tries to analyze the MP3 tag (might even take 1 minute, if a lot of big images where used in the tags)
For example, here is such a podcast uploaded to YouTube (from German Retro Gaming podcast Stay Forever who uses chapter images A LOT). Hearing the corresponding MP3 on an Android / iOS Podcatcher would provide a similar experience. So, I thought maybe VLC Media Player could play such podcasts like a slideshow as well. I mean VLC can already read RSS feeds which is another feature that a Podcatcher will provide.
