Sort by date
Can you sort a playlist by date? I have seen old posts on this but hoping by now that feature has been added. If not, I'd like to understand why it's not available. It seems like that feature is highly desired. Please let me know.

Yes, using the modification date of the file.
Many of us use VLC to listen to podcasts and these are often in a timeline or are logically to be heard in the order that they were released.
There are many, many user who are asking for this option for years now. Just google 'vlc "sort by date"' and you will get 210,000 results!
So please consider implementing this option.
