volume control as +/- dB gain

Option to show volume control as +/- dB gain instead of %.
Unity gain = 0dB = 100%

That was discussed before and deemed not to be feasible because the underlying OS audio HAL don't consistently provide the calculation.

Well 100% appears to be a known and appears to be unity gain (0dB). Seems like +/- dB gain change should be determinable from there.

Windows 8.1 and 11 (probably versions 7 and 10 too) support audio device level settings in dB or %. Seems VLC Player should be able to as well. At least on Windows platform.
