Firstly, kudos to the developers of VLC for this excellent program. Wish I could help but I only know Delphi, and I'm too old to learn anything new
Steps to reproduce the issue (using v3.0.16):
- configure VLC to show playlist
- open a media file with VLC
- stop it playing (e.g. press "S")
- in the background (using Explorer, Ztree, etc) delete or rename the media file
- select the file in the playlist for playing
Result:
Pop-up dialog window shows repeating "Your input can't be opened" error messages.
Clicking the Close button or the dialog window's red-X does close the window, but VLC pops up the window again a few seconds later.
Suggestions:
- Modify Playlist to check if file exists before playing it, if it does not exist then ignore and display error message
- In the case that the file does exist but still causes the error "Your input can't be opened" (e.g. file requires higher privileges to access), then give up after the first few attempts
