Play later - Lecture en différé

Postby SouSou le barbu » 26 Dec 2005 16:01

Hi, I'd like to be play a streaming files later: I start to watch TV on vlc, but i must go to the toilet for example so I click on a button; when I come back I click on another and the tv continue to be played, but 30sec later.
Is it possible or somebody has an idea how to program it in vb?
----------------------------------------------------

you can use the "timeshifting" access filter. Just enable it in the prefs and click pause to play/pause.

Sorry for being dense, but I just can't find the timeshifting access filter. There are a number of other access filters under prefereneces, but not timeshifting. Do I need some kind of plug-in?

In the preferences :
Input/Codecs -> Access filters : click the "Timeshift" checkbox. Then save the prefs. When runing a movie you can pause/play using the pause button.

it doesn't work with all protocols. rtsp is labeled as a protocl which can seek so the timeshifting filter doesn't activate. The issue is that your rtsp stream is real time ... which makes this kind of stupid. We'd have to fix that. (are you using a Freebox ?)

That is the interrest of timeshift if the media can be seek ?
In that case I only need to stop the stream and start again and seek to the position I stop...

rtsp can sometimes be seekable ... not always. So it would be interesting in case when it's not seekable.

I look a bit in the source, and If I understand correctly access filter works only with access2 modules. But livedotcom used for the rstp for the freebox is an access_demux module.

After all access_demux mean that the access_filter would have to remux the stream...
