What is the reasoning for that request?* Bump.
Here we are, yes its me, the poster of the topic.
Thank you all for keeping it clean.
I am getting somewhat impatient here though... four years later.
Developers, please read my first post. Take one hour to read through the sourcecode, and get back to this thread with info about how difficult such option would be to implement.
Thank you in advance.
PS. Lol! I just noticed a checkbox when posting in the forum that says: "Do not automatically parse URLs" - The irony! Right?
Thank you fot quick respons. *Wink, happy face*
There are lots of examples in this thread some even with screenshots that explains the possible benefits of being able to opt out of the metadata provided within many media files. For example when the metadata is faulty within hundreds of files, one click in settings and poof, problem gone.
For the playback? For the selection of the file to open? For a media library like?Hard question to answer.
I "care in the playlist" because I use it.
Here's another example how showing filenames in playlist is useful:For the playback? For the selection of the file to open? For a media library like?

When we need to sort compositions according filename (i.e. all of them are prepended with index number).
ALSO if 'do not preparse' option is used, we will not get total playlist length, which is must have.
I guess the easiest way to implement this feature would be save the list of unpreparsed files, and after parsing playlist just add a column for it so we can use it for good.
Seems like not a rocket science, huh?
Of course, for playback. It is what are playlists for, right? And you're not answering my question.
Depends. Some people consider playlists as sources, not as the "current playlist", aka "the play queue".Of course, for playback. It is what are playlists for, right? And you're not answering my question.
So, when you sort, it changes the playback order? We put a bunch of files into the playlist and all we need is to sort them according the file name, not by a metadata.
And URI column is not suitable for this task because it does not work properly with non-latin filenames. Hence the topic.
Yes, sorting does change the order. Consider this simple playlist. So, when you sort, it changes the playback order?
