Machine learning Audio to text

Postby paalped » 01 Jul 2017 13:17

Hi VLC user forum!
I am new to this forum today, cause I got an idea about how to improve VLC to the better.
What I would like is for someone with good machine learning skills, and who is familiar with the VLC code to implement googles speech to text or a similar library. There is a github here: https://github.com/gillesdemey/google-speech-v2.
With this tool inside VLC, there would be no more SRT hassle (for english and supported languages only though.)

Best regards
Paal

This looks like a feature request, so should have been posted to the designated forum VLC media player Feature Requests.
Also, the project you have linked to hasn't been updated since Aug 26 2014, while Google had developed an official Cloud Speech API (it is even linked in that project). No one would use the custom API when there is an official one.
