Display two sets of subtitles simultaneously as a language learning tool

Postby mrjohnc » 26 Feb 2016 14:54

Hi all

I'd like to request the function to be able to display two sets of subtitles simultaneously with the ability the offset the timing of one against another to help match up subtitles which start at slightly different points.

I'm currently learning French and I realised that I can watch French films with both English and French subtitles displayed using an online subtitle to combine them. This is really helpful because it helps to see and hear the French (written French is often not phonetic) and the English words. Also I get to watch loads of films.

However the online tools are not great, its hard to get a good result because often the subtitle files don't sync up correctly (a few seconds out) and often they cannot read the subtitle files for some reason (even though VLC can display them).

Thanks

John

Any plans to implement this feature? I would donate you for 10$ for an opportunity to turn on 2 different subtitles :)
