Remote Screenshot Capture

Postby TheReal_sabret00the » 15 Jun 2014 14:53

VLC allows users to capture a screenshot of whatever is playing, but the API apparently doesn't allow remote services to do so like MPC-HC allows. Any chance of opening this up?

What kind of services API? Do you have any example?

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but I'll re-explain and hopefully my answer will cover it.

From VLC itself, you can take a screenshot. However from a remote app (Remoti.co OR VLC Direct Pro) you can't take a screenshot. Media Player Classic Home Cinema allows for you to take a screenshot while using Remoti.co and it's saved to the phone/tablet/device you're using the remote app on.

I'm requesting that apps like Remoti.co be allowed to take screenshots of what's playing on VLC.
