MXF time code metadata

Postby fropdaddy » 03 Jun 2014 06:27

I am trying to view the time code metadata from a MXF file.
Specifically a proxy file from a Sony XDCAM disc. I can play the file without any problem, however VLC will only show the elapsed time and not the time code that is embedded in the file.
I know that someone else requested it in this link:
https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.ph ... 6&p=312791
but it doesn't seem like there was a solution.
I do know of a transcription company that would like to see this implemented as well.
I can link to media as a reference tomorrow.

Thanks for considering,
Paul

Here is the link to some test footage:

The timecode that is embedded starts at 08;35;41;12 and is drop frame.

Our mXF code is very basic, and MXF is a huge mess.

how about convert them to other format? To convert them to some normal format to see if it will help?
