Hi,
VLC 2.0.1; OS X 10.7.3.
Three things relating to the video viewer window:
1) Half Size: This, in fact, reduces the size of the video to a quarter of its original size, not half. It's a semantic thing: the devs have chosen to make "half" relate to the vertical and horizontal dimensions, as opposed to the number of displayed pixels.
My request is that "Half Size" actually reduce the video to a half its original size by displayed pixels instead. Either that, or please rename the entry in the Video menu to "Quarter Size".
2) Altering the size of the video window by dragging a corner doesn't maintain the window's aspect ratio, resulting in almost every operation adding black bars to two sides. Holding "Shift" while dragging appears to improve matters, but it isn't perfect, and still adds black bars, albeit much smaller ones.
My request is that changing the size of the window manually using the mouse always maintain the aspect ratio of the window. Unless there's some good reason for the current behaviour I can't think of?
3) In many applications (1Password, TextEdit etc.) clicking on the filename in the toolbar provides a drop-down list showing the path to the current item in the Finder.
My request is that this function be added to VLC.
Thanks for all the hard work.
