madVR

Postby maktaduai » 19 Feb 2012 19:07

I have been using VLC since version 1.0.0.0 and have been very satisfied with it. But I do have a request, would it be possible for this wonderful player to support MadVR rendering? And I also would love for it to be able to automatically list and open similar files or all files in a folder without having to manually list in them in the playlist.

Thank you Videolan for yet another wonderful update to the already spectacular and best player ever!

I'm agree with maktaduai, the quality of madVR is the best for me. The subtitle in avi video is more visible too.
The new version of VLC is impresive, support 10bits but still lag on my portable pc. I use SMPlayer actualy because the fluidity is better.

Thx very much for the new version ! :D

Thank you for the prompt response.

I love the new and subtle change in the GUI from the plain look to the Mac-ish look. It's refreshing and to my eyes blends well with my Windows 7.

About Madvr, though I would love for it to happen, it really doesn't matter because with the new version I could actually see the difference in video quality compared to the older versions. There's no stuttering or dropped frames and so far no problems whatsoever.

But I also noticed, compared to other players out there which supports GPU acceleration, that CPU usage shoots up to more than 50% lingering somwhere between 60% to 70% actually. That's not really an issue with me as long as it doesn't crash the PC and video and audio quality is maintained, because that is what's most important to me. My point is, I would love for VLC to actually support Nvidia Cuda or Purevideo or AMD/ATI stream (?) and that is something I would definitely look forward to in next updated version. Or, does it already have support for it and am I really ignorant?

Anyway, as I said, I am looking forward to the next update, say, 2.0.1. So 'takkheh' which is my mother tonge and in Egnlish means 'good work, carry on' or something like that.

You can activate GPU decoding, already.

Support for madVR would be terrific for VLC, more so with the new smooth motion feature.
