Control for pillar color

Postby DrHow » 13 Dec 2011 22:10

When I play a 4:3 video full screen, VLC pillar boxes it with black pillars on my wide screen TV. I would like to be able to set an intermediate gray color for the pillars. Since Windows Media Center has such a configuration parameter, I figured that I would surely find it in VLC; but I can't find it! So my request would be to provide such a feature. (Though it is not an issue for me, the feature should also apply when VLC is window boxing.) If it already exists, please clue me in as to where it lurks; and the feature request, in this case, would be to make it easier to find.

I do see something about "gray borders" here: http://wiki.videolan.org/VlcUserControl.cs
But I am unclear as to whether that is applicable and, if so, how to apply it.

Shaders might make this possible with VLC 1.2.0 but I haven't tested this.
