Different equalizer settings for audio and video

Postby sach160 » 21 Jan 2011 13:25

Hi,

It would be great if VLC could remember different equalizer settings for audio and video, or even better - different profiles for audio and video. Personally, I like to roll of the bass in audio but not when I'm watching films, so at the moment just use vlc for video.

At the moment is there a way to assign keyboard shortcuts to two different equalizer settings?

Cheers.

Or is it possible to install 2 versions under different folders and use one for audio and one for video?

No need for that. You can create different shortcuts for same VLC. And add needed EQ settings to that shortcut.

Cool, but how about if I want to associate say avi with one eq setting and say mp3 with another eq setting. Would shortcuts mean that I have to open VLC and then browse to the media? If I want to double click on any file and have it open the right eq settings, wouldn't I need two installs with two profiles? Would this work?

That won't work very well, since by default VLC stores its settings to same folder (%appdata%\vlc).
