"flying" screenshot possible?

Postby robertltux » 15 May 2005 20:46

Since it seems that almost every other player
1 gets this wrong
2 has the feature broken

What i would like to see is the ability to hit a key (say s or S)
and get a shot of the window saved to
#shot directory/#basename#????.(png,jpg) so i could watch a movie and then if i had hit the button say 48 times i would have files like
(given shot directory= ~/shots/ basename = movie
~/shots/movie0001.png movie0002.png ... movie0048.png

(please pardon if there is a plugin that does this but...)

you almost got it. Ctrl-Alt-S :)

(you need the 0.8.2-test1 version ... wasn't available in 0.8.1)

Exactly ! it takes the shot ,throws up a thumbnail (0 K cool) and does the file in about 5 seconds (celeron 700 384 megs memory win98se)

1 can whoever code a way to do the saves to a choosen directory?
2 is an option to save the current subtitle on the snap possible
( _+shift on the hotkey maybe?)

the directory can be changed somewhere in the prefs

to have the subtitles in the snapshot too, you would need to transcode video using the soverlay option. This isn't really the best solution. Maybe we can change the way snapshots are taken so that the subtitles are taken into account.

can it be coded to take the first 9 characters of the shotname from
the name of the disc ie "phantom-o" for the phantom of the operadvd

side note how are the numbers decided?
