WAV & DTS PassTrough

Postby Drakken » 25 Oct 2010 09:13

I making the request here. I'm sorry if this is already posted. Anyway I've tried so many times to get the right settings for this and just installed the last version just to see that it's still not possible to do that. Please any wise good advice :(

It is doable with SPDIF hardware.

No, you need to enable it: Preferences > Audio > Output.
Choose "DirectX audio output" or "Win32 waveOut extension output" on the droplist, and then check "Use S/PDIF when available" checkbox.

Thanks. That solved one of the problems. Now for those *.dts files my receiver read'em as DTS indeed.

Now can anybody tell me why this is not happening when playing *.wav files?. They won't be recognized as DTS. Only as 5.1 Dolby Digital.

That's wrong, it should recognize Wave as Multichannel PCM, and not DD.
