Enable VLC to open the MRL...

I have the disgrace that I downloaded VLC for the fist time three years ago and in that time my VLC ''PLAYER'' didnt ''play'' a single DVD or CD in my computer.I think I have a major bug here.
I cannot imagine how VLC plays DVD'S or CD'S...so I think it would be a nice feature in the player...

PLEASE ENABLE VLC TO OPEN THE MRL (MEDIA RESOURCE LOCATOR) .THANKS A LOT...
