Open playlist when VLC starts (1.0 used to do this)

Whit 1.0 it used to be that when you had the playlist open while closing VLC the playlist would open when you started VLC again. No I have 1.1 I have to open the playlist manually every time I start VLC.
Almost 99% of the time I start VLC I also want the playlist vissible, the other 1% it does not matter is it opens. So you can see that in my case it was really practical of VLC to open the playlist when starting VLC. I use VLC manly to watch IPTV and therefore and want the playlist open, on my secundary screen, so I can quickly select the channel I want to watch. (I have all the channels in one .vlc file)

Why is this function gone in 1.1? (or am I doing something wrong?)
I would really like to see this function back in 1.1, or maybe a function that opens the playlistwindow when opening a playlist file.

I unchecked docked playlist and now it's normal again (serperate window for playlist)

Nervermind, with 'I prefer the old style' I meant that I wanted a separate window for playlist.
Now I found out how, so there is no problem...

Is this for Windows or for OS X?

I'm having the opposite issue. For me, the playlist window is always open, and I never want it open. I would much prefer a single window interface. How can I make the playlist window not open at the start, or is there a way to get a unified interface as is pictured for the Windows version on the home page for videolan.org?

View -> Playlist makes the playlist disappear. If you close VLC with playlist closed, it should start like that next time.

I have just update to 1.1.1 and I can confirm that the bug is fixed and it works just like it used and supposed to do.
