Playlist tabs
It would be great if VLC used playlist tabs which would basically allow the user to contain an entire playlist in one tab, then if the user wants to open some different items without having to add them to the existing playlist or open a separate instance of VLC, they can just open up a brand new tab right next to it, as many as they want, and add items to that tab. CloudStalker has found this feature to work very well in foobar2000.

This is a really old post but I'm going to bump it as a simple feature like this would be very useful
