Future (1.0.x ?) GUI considerations

More of a GUI request than a feature request... or suggestion

What we have currently, as of 0.9.x:

And going one step beyond, here's what I'd love to see:



As well as making the GUI generally tidier, the above takes in consideration the importance of saving up on wasted vertical space in today's widescreen oriented monitor market. Simple, practical and effective.

Well, everyone thinks he knows better the way the buttons should be, so why not let the user do it?
