Playlist queue

I have a lot of music in my playlist (over 1500 items) and I usually have the shuffle option enabled. I want to listen to some tracks in a particulary order (without creating a new playlist). In Winamp and other players, there is an option for the items in the playlist to queue them so they will be played after the current song.

The PRIME feature VLC needs is a good right click... add to queue function that works well and fast like the rest of the program.

While a nice playlist organizer would be great, it's complicated and potentially intensive. The min needs are to be able to highlight a chuck of media and queue it up including subdirectories. A full media organizer would be ideal, but unlikely to come without major ram/bloat costs unless done elegantly.

You know those newish data size charts which uses color and polygons to represent your disk space.

I wonder if that would be a cool option for a media library organizer.

I hate the current detachable floating suck playlist. I use media player occasionally because it's playlist is better.. I KNOW.. I am shamed enough without your ridicule, but it's true.

VLC also doesn't queue media up as fast as media player... WOAH... something is wrong.

We need a good multithreaded queue media up/database algorithm. I suggest an assembly level bitwise data matrix with a hydrogen fuel cell backend.

On the other hand... a fast queue up media command would also work.

The basic idea here is that, depending on the order in which you've clicked the + button, items can be queued and accessed via the Media Library (filter). So even you don't want to save a playlist you can still queue items in the playlist and have them play in the order in which you're queued them, in theory. Did CloudStalker just reapeat himself?

Hopefully today CloudStalker will post some other idea he has for the playlist in the QT4 Consolidation Thread.

Note: CloudStalker needs a laptop.
