FLV COMPATIBILITY

Postby COKEDUDE » 14 Jul 2008 00:17

Has there been any luck at making VLC player better with FLV files. VLC player always has difficulty playing FLV files.

FLV seeking etc. is fixed in the development versions of VLC (0.9.0-git). Try a nightly build:
http://nightlies.videolan.org/

Which one? I didn't see 0.9.0-git anywhere. Will it work with Windows?

Git is the version control system used with VLC. Technically I should have said "0.9.0-test2" since 0.9.0 is now in the testing phase.

For Windows the latest can be found here (*.exe for installer, *.zip/*.7z for just compressed archive):
http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win32/latest/

Cheers, Arite.

Where are the updates to this posted? I'm not really sure how to find the nightly build updates.

http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win32/latest/ should always have the latest build that has compiled successfully. Filename tells the date when it was compiled.

Ok that's really annoying. I downloaded it yesterday from that exact link, and when I took the files out of the 7zip archive and started the program it asked if I wanted to update it. And the link right now says it was just updated a couple of minutes ago.
