Playlist transitions

Hi

Would it be possible to add a feature such that as you transition from one item in the playlist to the next it does not flicker or redraw the entire video container. In addition when you are in full screen the transition goes back to windowed and then back to full screen again.

Maybe in windowed mode it should fade to black, resize if needed without redrawing the whole window and then fade to next item in playlist.

Maybe in fullscreen it does the same without resize obviously but does not go back to windowed mode between items.

Some folks might like direct cut between items so no fade.

This is not possible atm.
We plan a redesign of our video core to accomedate this in the future, but no idea how long that will still take.

We use VLC to randomly switch between Video's, MP3's with vizualizations and Live-feed-video on a projector for an audience. At the moment the "flick" between them is pretty fast and not really noticeable.

However, when you do get a fade feature working it would be really great and smarten up the presention profesionally.

i'll second that. When VLC can be used as a totally invisible back-end system it would become even more useful that it is at the moment!

Has there been any development on this? The transition feature would still be a great option, and would add a lot to the visual aspect of the display.
