I assume that is what DGMurdockIII means (another example would be foobar2000), however that would be quite difficult to develop pratically since VLC is cross-platform. Also since VLC is open source - the concept of having an SDK is slightly contradictory, although I understand how being able to compile plugins which could be distributed separately in binary form (along with their source code under a GPL-compatible license of course
) could make it *easier* to expand VLC's functionality in some cases. Whether overall this would be beneficial I am not so sure.
