Support for Capture / TV Tuner card with Directshow

Hello,

Feature is implemented in VLC 0.7.0 but after browsing the forum daily for 3-4 times/day and checking emails from videolan egroup, I've yet to hear anyone with a success story. Most people get video, but no audio even with the popular Hauppauge cards. How can we help ?

I did personnaly hear more reports of audio working than not.
However I haven't been able to test the audio part of the directshow input very much because I only have my soundcard mic in to test with (and this works ok).
One of the things which isn't currently very clear is if the audio is well synchronised with the video.

There also have been a few reports of the directshow input not working at all with certain cards. But in these cases the video wouldn't even play because VLC would get stuck after the initialisation phase.

How can you help ?
Well, if you know programming and have a problematic device than have a look and try to solve the problem and ask for some help if required.
Otherwise there would still be the option of donating some of the problematic hardware so I can actually fix that (but that would have to be usb because I only have a laptop .

Another nice thing would be to setup a "supported hardware" page where people would report their success/failures.
