i would like to c a java/midp compliant vlc 4 mobiles/handhelds. is this possible?

I WANT THI TOO FOR MY Sony Ercsson k800i, is there a port available - it would make so much sense to make a mobile phone version, but the difficulty may lie in developers having to have understanding of maybe each different mobile brand and model (hundreds) and too handhelds

Is there any update on this - java/midp compliant vlc , this would be good and could also strip out some of the less needed features upon first release,
If I new how to code/program I swear I would put this out because of my passion for VLC Media Player

I am 99.99% sure you can't get VLC working properly as Java software. Most Java environments in mobile phones are just too slow to actually decode videos. S60 and Windows mobile platforms are different things, but what comes to Java, forget it.
