Not yet.
But in 0.8.2 it should work a lot better. Though still quite slow. It's just not finished yet.

It's probably your CPU's fault. H.264 requires a lot of power, so it might be just to slow to decode your streams/files correctly. I cannot play anything larger than 380*180px (@250 Kb/s) on my Mac fluently (it's a rather old iMac atm, so that's not very surprising actually).

i've got a 4000+ AMD64 and x850xt all other programs are fine, vlc plays 1920*1080P fine and windows media players wmvhd 1080p with drm perfectly but quicktime just suckly

so, when an H.264 compatable non-beta version of VLC comes out, will it be just (Mac OS) 10.4.1 compatable, or will it also work for 10.2/10.3? us older OS users would hate to be left in the dust

It should still be compatbile with 10.2 and 10.3
Please test the test2 release, to make sure it indeed still runs on your OS.

yep, the test2 runs on 10.3.9 pretty well, except an AVC/H264 MKV file that i have consistently kills it in under 10 seconds. everything else seems fine
