I am very new to all of this so right off the bat I must apologize if I do not place this in the right area or I do not state this correctly because usually I do not take part in forums in fact about 9 months ago I didnt even know what a facebook page was so here goes I with the help of someone I know downloaded the VLC media player and enjoyed it thoroughly I used it to watch all kinds of movies and to download music and lots of things in fact I liked it so much that I had a friend of mine use his debit card to donate to the site (as hard as it might be to believe I do not have one of my own!!) but anyways a short time ago my computer got infested with a virus that was particually nasty (the technicians words that helped me fix my system) but anyways he fixed it and when I got my system back I found that I had to re-download all of my favorite things such as the VLC media player now my problem is ever since I re-downloaded the media player I have been experiencing all kinds of problems, problems that I never had ever before when I had vlc on my system like for instance I dont know if this is normal but when I had it the first time I was able to adjust the volume to 400 % something I liked alot cause once in awhile I like to turn up the music and that was a nice little bonus that I did not find on any other media players that I had seen but now for some reason I can only get the volume up to 200% on movies and music and also the second issue I am experiencing ALOT of that is very frustrating is that lately when I put either a cd or dvd in and try to play it I get an error message that tells me that vlc media player just crashed and something about sending a report to video-lan I cannot seem to fix these issues and I do not want to keep on calling the tech. to get his help especially if it is something that someone in these forums might have experienced on thier systems and might be able to give me some advice did I download the wrong version of the media player onto my computer or what? because there are alot of different versions to choose from when you first type up VLC into the google search if anyone can help me with advice on what to do it would be greatly appreciated and again if I am doing this wrong I totally apologize as I am new to all of this............... THANK YOU  :?  8)

So, probably your issues are not up to date drivers. Update and reinstall them. Delete VLC preferences and resintall VLC.
