Using phone to control Tab

Hi.

I plan to use a Xoom for playing video on the backseat of the car.

I have borrowed a Xoom to test this I just don't know where to start.
1. Can I use a Wildfire or similar phone as a remote for the Xoom, so that I can change video for the kids on the backseat without touching the Xoom?
2. If this is possible which apps should I install?
3. Can I stream from the phone to the Tablet?
4. Can I play files that are locally on the Xoom?

J;-)

Can I use the front cam on the Xoom to view the backseat status on the wildfire.

Maybe I should say that it's not the driver that will be remote controlling the backseat.

I know that we have a lot of apps that would let the android tablet function as a remote control for other gadgets in the area but I am not sure about controlling another tablet. I reckon that they have to be in the same network so that they could discover each other but I am really not sure.

I have tried controlling a media computer using my samsung galaxy 10.1 and it works rather quite well. I think that the phone would function just the same

Interesting plan,

One point I might add is that not sure if the XOOM is different. But my Android Tablet can't host a WiFi connect out of the box. But my Android Phone can (so your wildfire might be able to). So essentially you would have to connect your XOOM to your phone.

Now it is easy to connect to the XOOMs camera and stream the video to a pre-assigned. Now if any apps already exist that allow you to do this, I have no idea. And also whilst it is easy to get the video and to stream it. I have no idea how to display the video. I have still yet to look at the VLC app lol.

The last point I will make that this is alot of effort and very expensive route to being able to play DVDs in the back seat of the car. But an interesting idea never the less
