Problems Recording and Copying DVDs

Postby TheBigTime001 » 30 May 2011 04:42

When trying to copy the DVD-Video disc "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole" from its VIDEO_TS folder to a VIDEO_TS folder I have created on my hard disk(so VLC will play it as a DVD with menus), when I get to the "VTS_1_0.vob" VOB file and most of the other VOB files, I get a "Filesystem error" (Windows) or an "Input/output error: Splice error" (Ubuntu Linux 10.10). Could someone who has the disc, loves the movie, and has VLC please do these steps and send a reply as you finish one(needs to contain your exact results, layman's terms preferred but not specifically asked for)?
1) Try creating a VIDEO_TS directory/folder on your hard drive(wherever and whatever helps you remember it is fine)
2) Try creating a DVD image and copying from the image(if using Ubuntu, Brasero is good solid choice)

Thanks!
If we can simulate real life so accurately, then isn't our reality maybe just one great big simulation as well?
