Just wondering when there will be a version of VLC Media player for Android 2.2 or higher.
My company specializes in high end AV equipments and we are standardizing on Android as the control side.
We would also like to be able to stream media to the Tablet, which means we need a half decent player.
As a worst case, something we can just start up by feeding it a URI/URL
As a best case, something we can point to our LAN and NAS and let it do everything
What's the situation with VLC?

VLC on android is working quite well but some features are missing in the UI so it has to be fixed before a beta.

There is, but that is not for ALL devices. Only the HTC One X, Samsung GS3 and GS2, the Galaxy Nexus, the HTC Desire HD, and the Nexus One supports VLC Player... I don't think Tablets are supported but it'll be a good idea to develop such thing...
