1.0.6 binaries?

Good day to all of you,

Maybe stupid question: As it has been more than two weeks that a new, less vulnerable version has been released (1.0.6, http://www.videolan.org/security/sa1003.html), I wonder if there will be binaries of this release as well (mainly interested in windows), and if yes, when.

Thanks for all info,

greets, tobi... :)

I've been wondering about this too. It's been a fairly long time that 1.0.5 has been out and the bugs in Win 7 64bit are really killing me and making me check the download page every day for an update. Some of the bugs are the non-autoplay dvd function so you always have to manually go into computer->right click on the dvd drive->play with vlc player, in order for it to play. There's also the full-screen bugs that make the taskbar visible when you scroll full-screen and some applications will be on top of the video like winamp.

Apparently 1.0.6 is out here: http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/1.0.6/
but no one has bothered to make binaries for it yet :(

AFAIK it is a *nix/OS X release only.

If you want a newer build of VLC for Win32 which fixes bugs/vulnerabilities in 1.0.5 then download the latest pre-release of VLC 1.1.0 (currently 1.1.0-pre4):

Cheers, Arite.
