Seamless Playlist Advance

Hi All

I've scoured through the manual, wiki, online docs and forum and I couldn't find an answer to my question, hopefully somebody here will be able to help me, or point me in the correct direction. I'f the answer is in the online docs/forum etc. I sincerely apologize for missing it. ;)

I have a number of different media files queued in the play list. All of these files play fine without a problem, and all of the play in succession without any issues. However I noticed that that the video window closes after each file and then opens again for the next file in the play list. This is very distracting when watching a lot of files in succession, especially with full screen mode engaged. All the files play in full screen mode, but the video window still closes and opens for each file.

Is there a setting where I can change this, or is my VLC broken, or is this not in the feature set? Is there a setting that will keep the video window open after playback or even fade to black when playback has finished? What about a fade through black between files?

Thanks Guys and Gals
Regards
M

Use VLC 1.0.0 for this.

Hi j-b

Thanks for the help, I greatly appreciate it. I downloaded VLC 1.0.0 and it works fine but the video output window still opens and close after some off the videos. I think this is due to the different sizes of the videos.

I also found the setting where I can choose which output screen I would like to use because I am using two displays. Is there a possibility where I can take control of one of the screens, while positioning the player on the other screen. This would enable VLC to be a video presenter of some sorts.

Regards
M

Yes, if video aren't the same size and same chroma, VLC will destroy the vout.

how do you initiate / configure it to use the vout, and is it possible to force vout, regardless of the size?
