Website charging for VLC

Hi I'm a newbie & so not sure where to post this.

I just downloaded VLC from http://www.vlc-full.info/uk. Fine but then I was asked to send a text message to a number to get the code to activate the software. When I did this I received 3 texts & was charged at 3 pounds each. The point is I wasn't told this would happen. I posted a comment on their site but guess what they haven't got back to me. I think this is a scam, VLC is open source, but at least I should have been told I was going to be charged. The software works fine however.

"Download 100% free virus"!!! It sounds to CloudStalker like they're offering its users a free virus, maybe if those two words were flipped it wouldn't look so bad. :P However, it's not good for them to be charging their users money for something that's free of charge. :-|

Why not? GPL allows one to do so :p

But still, it's better to get it from the official website ;)

True IF you respect ALL of the GPL including the copyleft part meaning they have to grant people access to their version's source with they don't. GPL is violated

:) Funny, I think everyone knows VLC is free.
Yeah, free to exploit and use for cash. :P
