I don't see a developers corner in the forum!

I'm already in the dev mailing list and messages are more for developping vlc than other application using vlc!

Ask your question on vlc-devel@ or on the IRC channel. You're very unlikely to get knowledgeable answers here I guess (Maybe in the "Web and scripting" category but that's more for the plugins than libvlc itself).
