Selling VLC binaries

Hi, all,

Just wanted to drop you a line about these guys:

http://prosoft3d.com/dvd/

They are selling a product that they call the "Prosoft DVD Decoder Player 5.0". However, when you make your purchase and they provide you with a download link, the program that you download is actually the VLC media player. (In my case, they first had me download version 4.5 of the FusionSoft DVD Player XP program, and when that didn't work for me, they gave me a link to download version 0.7.0 of the VLC media player. Yes, it was stupid of me to go for this, but anyway....)

Now, the GPL allows others to sell copies of free software, and that's fine, but misrepresenting GPL software as your own commercial program seems to me to be something else entirely.

why not concider reporting it in some site where everyone will read it? this way you can rest assured that none will fall for this.

The website says they offer 30 Day MoneyBack:
If you are unhappy with our software, we will be happy to provide you with a FULL REFUND.

Oh that's great, a refund for something you shouldn't even have to pay for in the first place. :P
