webcam question around the coffee machine... not to bother

Postby tsar » 04 Dec 2003 17:11

Just a quick dumm question to ya'll experts: :)

First of all, I am glad to come across this project. You guys are really doing a great job.

Is there a way to simply plug a webcam as the latest nice Philips 60f/s not to mention it, and to stream its input to some network clients for instance? Anyone to just give me a quick list of action to perform...

Also, how could I "plug" some image parsing process (and where in the code) which would trigger some personal actions real-time...

Thanks you in advance.

VLC have support for webcams in linux, and in windows with 0.7.0-test1 and up. To parse the video for some reason you most probably will have to make a video filter module

Totally awesome =) more and more features, but still light on resources and plays DivX much smoother than the actual DivX player. Excellent job guys.
