lav problem

Postby TeapotHippie » 06 Mar 2025 07:11

Hello,

I hope one of you guru's can help me with this strange problem.
Yesterday the power to my usb soundcard got interrupted, suddenly the sound came from my monitor speakers. Then it turned out i had no sound in videoplayers anymore, not in vlc, not in potplayer, not in mpc-hc. Windows media player still had sound though.
I then
1, tried klite code pack, did not help, uninstalled.
2 download and install lav filters, did not help but after this step win media player also was silent.
Uninstalled lav again, rebooted, and tried my luck with chatgpt, it told me to install external lav filter in mpc-h, did not work.
Now sitting with my hands in my hair, at least what's left of it at my age.
Please see the error window i get from mpc-hc about lav filters.

Thanks for helping.

Jean

VLC does not require an external codec or filter.
Open the audio settings in the Preferences and select a suitable output device.

Moved to the Coffee Corner because this is not a VLC issue but a Windows one, or a hardware failure one.
