Some advice using program please

Have some time now to play around and I would like to ask if this program has features to edit video files and chop or take apart in sections? I want to slow down and look at each frame to see what happened in my video. Can this be done with this program or can someone help point me in the right direction.

You can do it but VLC is not an editor. You can record some of the parts but it's not very accurate.
It will be easier and faster to use a dedicated video editor tool such as
AviDemux.

Hi. Thank You for this Forum. I'm new here and to say the least - I'm a little bit dumbstruck with new technology. So please bear with me if my questions sound a little bit stupid. I'm a huge music fan from the '50's to the '90's and as looking for away to download all my favourite music videos in MP4 format to my Windows 10 laptop. I heard about VLC and downloaded it and I cant tell you how much I love this and all my favourite music.
Ok this is the background. The Program recently asked me from time to time to upgrade to a new version. I want to know will I loose all my music when doing so? I'm also seeing on this forum that certain mobile devices support VLC. Will I be able to play the music through my Samsung S7 device?

No you won't

Sure, look for "VLC for android" in the play store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... .vlc&hl=fr
You'll likely need to copy your music to your phone though.
You should prefer opening a new topic next time, it's easier to follow and it avoids notifying other people for nothing.
